Summary

The local ambiance proves extremely attractive to our guests. You can horse back ride, bike or hike along pristine trails and the local environment provides an excellent opportunity for gazing at a clear night sky.

Those interested in horticulture will enjoy the opportunity to view the landscape and observe local flora species.

There is a small poultry flock to be enjoyed by the visitors and visits to the beehives can be arranged. We do offer our apiary products for sale, which are considered amongst the best in the world due to the local climate and vegetation. Needless to say, these products are totally organic in their production.

Canto da Lua offers their guests an artistic and cultural experience with the permanent exhibition of some of the works of Marlene Crespo. Her works portray the rich universe of popular culture with a truly singular style that remains grounded in figurative and symbolic imagery. Her primary mediums are sketch, printmaking and textile. She has exhibited her work in galleries, cultural centers and public locales in Brazil and abroad.

"As an artist, I have devoted many years to sketching, printmaking and the textile arts, especially in São Paulo, where I live. My portfolio of solo exhibits include private bookstores in Japan, participation at IX Bienal de São Paulo and the Centro Univeritario Maria Antonia – the Historic Centers of USP and Mackenzie. My work has also been displayed at cultural centers in Campos do Jordão and São Bento do Sapucai. Art and ecology complement eachother. It is because of this that I feel gratified to keep a permanent display of some of my work at Canto da Lua. My work has a strong thematic connection to the cultural roots of Brazil. These roots are tied to a vision for the defense of the earth and its inhabitants – humans, animals and plants. Happily, these are beliefs that are also shared by the direction at Canto da Lua."
